Although I was born and raised in Rome, Naples has always held a special place in my heart—it’s my favorite city in Italy.
With its rugged charm and incredible food, Naples is endlessly captivating. It’s also a city with a rich and pioneering street art legacy. In the 1980s, artists like Ernest Pignon-Ernest and Blek Le Rat were already transforming its streets, and in the early 2000s, Banksy chose Naples for his first works in Italy. Even earlier, in the 1970s, the city’s walls told political stories through the murals of Felice Pignataro, a cornerstone of historic muralism. Naples has also played a central role in shaping Italy’s graffiti scene, cementing its reputation as a hub of urban creativity.
