December 11 – 15: Unveil Rome’s Street Art With Me!

For the very first time, we’d love to invite you to explore the city we call home. From December 11 to 15, we’ll dive into Rome’s street art scene together. Each walk can be booked independently, so you’re free to join just one or as many as you like, building your own itinerary.

This journey will also lay the foundation for our Rome street art book. I’ll guide you through my hometown while Paolo captures its essence through his camera for the next volume in the As Seen on the Streets of… series. By joining this crowdfunding street art trip, you’ll become part of the journey that brings the book to life, and as a heartfelt thank-you, a copy will be sent your way once it’s published. 🥰

Join us for an intimate and unconventional adventure through Rome: uncovering hidden corners, engaging with its urban art scene, meeting the local street artists, and sharing our love for street art, unique stories, and offbeat experiences.

A Detailed Look At The Urban Walks

DAY 1 – Creativity and Resistance

Thursday, December 11th | From 10 AM to 5 PM (with room for extra adventures)

We begin our exploration from the eastern edges of Rome, walking through hipster havens and multicultural quarters—stopping not only to admire murals, but also to step inside the studios of local street artists.

These are neighborhoods where many artists and creatives live, shaping a unique cultural landscape.

We’ll wrap up the day admiring the sunset over ancient Roman ruins.

DAY 2 – Post-industrial Charm

Friday, December 12th | From 10 AM to 5 PM (with room for extra adventures)

We’ll kick off the day at a former squat, where some street artists still keep their studios. From there, we’ll walk through Rome’s post-industrial landscape, explore one of the prettiest and yet very underrated neighborhoods, and enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant.

After lunch, we will visit a street artist in his studio, discovering what motivates him and which corners of the city inspire his art.

We will end the day at a panoramic yet still secret spot overlooking the Coliseum.

DAY 3 – Outside the Margins

Saturday, December 13th | From 10 AM to 5 PM (with room for extra adventures)

We’ll start in the far northern outskirts, in an area most Romans have never set foot in. Surrounded by striking murals with powerful messages and vintage markets, we’ll then head to an abandoned factory, still beyond the city’s margins, transformed into a unique lived-in street art museum.

From there, we’ll venture to the far eastern edge of the city to explore more murals, ending the day at a party inside Rome’s largest squat.

DAY 4 – Utopias and Realities

Sunday, December 14th | From 10 AM to 5 PM (with room for extra adventures)

After visiting my favorite museum in the city and exploring murals and squats in this student neighborhood—home to one of Rome’s universities—we’ll take the bus to a forgotten suburb where street art grew out of a grassroots, multi-year project led by retirees and local residents tired of seeing their area neglected by the city.

From there, we’ll reach one of the largest social housing complexes in Europe, where regeneration initiatives—including urban art—are reimagining a utopia that once fell short. The tour ends with a surprise, something meant to truly touch your heart. 🥰

DAY 5 – West Rome Does Exist

Monday, December 15th | From 10 AM to 5 PM (with room for extra adventures)

Romans say, “West Rome doesn’t exist.” This itinerary shows the opposite: we’ll stroll through quiet piazzas that still echo the 1950s, explore working-class neighborhoods where striking murals break through the concrete, and pause at one of the city’s most beautiful viewpoints overlooking St. Peter’s dome.

From there, the metro will carry us across Rome to a completely different neighborhood, an area of students and political street art, where murals tell the story of the neighborhood and its struggles. This is the very place where both graffiti and street art first appeared in Rome. It’s still a lively, politically charged, working-class area full of noise and energy.
